Bible Study Methodology

The Bible study methodology was birthed from methods throughout my church experience. Studying the Bible is a creative process. My study habits are constantly evolving as the Holy Spirit leads and guides me. Studying is a constant and consistent process that is completed daily because God is constantly speaking; we are constantly evolving; you just need to shut out the distractions and listen. As God speaks, we create what he is saying to be seen in the earth realm. He could be speaking a message of direction, correction, encouragement, edification or confirmation. Sometimes he may say nothing and that could be messages of be still, humble yourself, be aware or rest. There are many ways that God showed me how to listen, write and study in the past 20 years, and I would like to share them with you. There is no best way to study other than what works for you, and how the Holy Spirit leads your day to day activities. I am only sharing and teaching what I learned and show you how God ordered my steps.

  1. GET A HAND BIBLE OF YOUR CHOSE: I have multiple Bibles, but I like the Life Application Study Bible and I have the New Living Translation (NLT). Choose the Bible that is most comfortable for you to understand and use the online tools to help reference other bible versions such as:

  2. GET A CONCORDANCE OF THE BIBLE: The Blue Letter Bible website has a built in concordance, but I also like to have a hard copy for my own personal reference. A concordance has the Hebrew and Greek root definitions and meanings detailed for edification.

  3. GET A BIBLE DICTIONARY: A dictionary will help piece together backgrounds and show visuals of what you are studying so you are able to see within the context of the biblical setting

  4. PURCHASE THE BOOK "Experiencing GOD": My mentor encouraged me to read this book in 2013 based on what I was experiencing during the time. I immediately got the book and the workbook. This book helped clarify what I was experiencing. This book is a great tool. I signed up and completed the Experiencing God course at my church Beulah Missionary Baptist and completed it 5/25/2024.

  5. INVEST IN Books/ TEACHINGS: I purchased many materials that helped me from Myles Munroe which have all blessed me since 2004. He helped me while on the job and helped me understand the kingdom of God. I will place a few of the books on the inspiration tab. All of his books are relevant still today and his children have taken his mantle and are doing an excellent job at https://www.munroeglobal.com/

    • Books: The Spirit of Leadership; The Principle & Power of Vision

    • Rediscovering the Kingdom DVD's

  6. Sign up for Bible Study: Your church should have many bible studies or classes offered or you can seek out free online bible studying such as World Bible School (WBS) and World Video Bible School (WVBS).
