Keep Walking Through The Valley

Updated: Oct 9, 2019

Although I have dental insurance, I am unable to use it because I have a one year waiting period, so I really do not have insurance according to the system. I have an abscess that has swollen my face and it's painful. I visited a very popular company and the dentist performed my x-rays, no cleaning, and brief evaluation. He saw the infection, but provided me with no antibiotics even after asking three times. This is the kind of problems that occur in our cities by professionals who put the concerns off on hospitals and low-income services to be flooded with people along with the type of insurance offered by companies or the market. I contacted over 15 dental offices for assistance to extract my teeth, but no resolution. They asked for the money upfront which would have cost close to $300, but most of them did not know the cost because they wanted to examine me for billing. I do not have the income to be charged upfront which is why I had insurance. I was in a hard place. I also was denied the credit services and majority did not offer an in-house payment plan unless they could bill your insurance.

So, my insurance could not be utilized because the service for an extraction would not be covered until February 1, 2020 considering I just received the insurance February 1, 2020. That is five months from now, and I could not sit with an infection in my mouth so I remember a friend telling me about Mercy Care. I had to go to them for services for low-income. Although I had to wait from 7:00 am to noon, they prescribed me antibiotics and pain medicine to get rid of the infection, but I had to be referred to an oral surgeon for the teeth to be extracted. They only did basic extractions. So, I had to endure another process. The amoxicillin was free to fill at Publix. Wow! and the original dentist that took my x-rays would not even prescribe the medication. He got paid from the basic services from the insurance company. This is the type of service that upsets me, but the Lord said be angry, but sin not (Ephesians 4:26). We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but principalities, powers, rulers, and spiritual forces in high places (Ephesians 6:12). They exalt themselves above God causing the people of God to experience many trials and tribulations. This is not my battle. I pray for the dentist's practice, and I do not see a purpose in filing a complaint because they go into a black hole in Georgia based on your status, influence, power and money.

It is day 3 of using the antibiotics and my face is still swollen and painful, but let patience have its perfect work (James 1:2-3). It is a terrible experience walking through poverty because I do not have funds to pay for services that I currently need. I will work out my faith because God showed me mercy to Mercy Care so I will continue to see what the end will be. Although "I am walking through the valley of the shadow of death, I will not fear evil" systems or business practices (Psalms 23). I will walk through them to the end results that God needs for me to produce in Christ using the Holy Spirit as my guide. I thank God for providing me with dreams, visions and the Holy Spirit to guide my every day. I could not make it without the leadership and wisdom of the Holy Spirit. See my written book on "The Valley of the Shadow of Death" on my website for my overcoming testimony.
