My brothers are the 5th out of 10 people that I would like to thank during this Passover Season. I would like to say thank you to God for providing them into my family. I have two older brothers to look up to for protection. I am grateful for them. They are tough and protective of their sisters. When I reflected on our lives, I realized that they were the funniest two men I have ever known. During family events, they would have us laughing to tears. Everyone needs laughter in their family. It helps to release stress and let go of problems. We laughed at each other and old movies that are still funny today. They should have both been comedians. They are the glue that holds the family together through laughter and not holding in drama. They laugh about life and move on. They do not let things get to them or bother them, that I know about. They have emotions and will tell you the truth if you want to hear it. My oldest brother has a beautiful vocal voice and he reminds me of William Murphy, the gospel artist. When I heard William Murphy sing for my first time at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in the early 2000's, my immediate thoughts went to my brother. I use to have a singing voice too until I lost my voice as a teenager. We sang duets to old school songs trying to sound like the singers in front of the MTV, BET or VH1 videos and the records my dad had at home. The yearly countdown was the best around New Years because we would dub a tape of the songs in the count down that we liked. We found anything to use as a mic. He probably doesn't remember that, but that is the type of gratefulness I have to my brother. We had fun as a family. Although we had our ups an downs, we spent time being ourselves at home. My brother has also
been blessed by God with 3 talented sons (my nephews) with beautiful mothers. His sons were signs to me that God is with his people. His first son’s birthday is March 8th. His second son is March 7th, and his third son is March 16th. It has been a joy to see them grow up and become men. God is keeping and protecting them which means everyone's prayers are working for the next generation. They are part of the next generation of leaders.
My youngest brother is so talented. He has the gift to help others with his hands through creating, building and practical knowledge. He blesses others with his talent. He is multi-talented and works hard. He can fix and build anything he put his mind to in this world. He is a visionary and creator. He is around 6 feet 6 inches tall, and towers over me like a giant . We both graduated from Redan High School and he was a pro at basketball. Basketball was another natural talent that he possess along with drawing. The words for my brothers is PERSEVERANCE in everything.
Prayers for Men:
"Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything" (James 1:2-4, NIV).
